A California family is claiming they became victims of a targeted racial attack during a violent dispute at the Kaanapali Alii resort in Lahaina, Maui. The incident allegedly involved members of a larger group using physical force and objects such as chairs against family members spanning multiple age groups from teenagers to elderly residents.

Maui law enforcement confirmed dispatch to the scene at approximately 10 p.m. on July 17 and discovered roughly 10 to 15 individuals remaining at the pool area, many displaying visible injuries. Officers initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation, which officials noted involved approximately 30 people at its peak.
