## Key points

- Jeremy Hansen joins a proposed Moon-themed Madrid development.
- Plans include 12,000 homes and a $5 billion complex.
- Visitors may pay $500 for a 90-minute lunar walk.

## Summary

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen has become an adviser and ambassador for Moon World Resorts, a proposed Madrid development centred on a giant Moon replica and lunar-base experience. The project links his spaceflight experience to a commercial tourism venture, while he also takes on a Canadian government advisory role intended to strengthen the country’s position in the space sector.

The developers describe the scheme as a $5 billion complex with about 12,000 luxury homes across 24 towers, alongside hotels, shops, parks and universities. They say visitors could pay $500 for a 90-minute walk across the recreated lunar surface, and plan to license the design to a single investor or construction client. Hansen says he is paid for his work but has not disclosed the amount.
