Cancer doctor reveals 5 habits that may reduce disease risk and improve outcomes

Fox News · 3 hours ago

A Texas-based breast surgical oncologist, Dr Loren Rourke, has outlined five lifestyle habits she says may help lower cancer risk and improve outcomes, even though no single choice can guarantee prevention. The advice comes as new figures show the continuing scale of the disease in the United States, underscoring why doctors continue to promote practical, evidence-based ways for people to support their overall health.

The American Cancer Society estimates that around 2,114,850 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the US in 2026, equivalent to roughly 5,800 people a day. Dr Rourke, also an author, stresses that healthy habits work by reducing certain risk factors and supporting the body's resilience, rather than offering any guarantee against the disease.
