Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) has invested in new Student Zones across its Canterbury, Medway and Tunbridge Wells campuses, bringing together study skills advice, wellbeing support, budgeting help, IT support and placement guidance in single locations. Placements are a core part of many CCCU courses, particularly in business, computing and healthcare, and the university has also expanded maths and statistics support for all students. Originally founded as a teacher training college in 1962, CCCU now runs a broad range of courses, including a medical school delivered jointly with the University of Kent, and performs strongly on graduate employment measures thanks to the vocational nature of many of its degrees.

The university offers substantial financial support, distributing almost £4.5 million a year to students, including a £600 annual grant for those from households earning £25,000 or less, £1,200 annual bursaries for care leavers, and £2,000 academic excellence scholarships for top A-level performers. More than £840,000 was given in hardship support during 2024-25, alongside initiatives such as a breakfast club and campus pantry to help with living costs. Accommodation prices have been frozen for 2026-27, ranging from £4,835 to £10,199 in Canterbury depending on room type and contract length, while Medway campus accommodation costs £158 a week. CCCU also maintains a highly inclusive admissions approach, with over 95% of applications resulting in an offer and a strong proportion of students from non-graduate and mature backgrounds.
