- He rejects claims the club is unmanageable.
- He argues pressing is only one part of football.

## Summary

Michael Carrick defended his Manchester United players and rejected suggestions that the club is unmanageable ahead of their match against Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Under pressure after a poor performance during the previous week, he said the team needed to respond and that he trusted them to do so.

Carrick said he spoke regularly with former United managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and pushed back on claims that Bruno Fernandes was not running enough. He argued that pressing is only one part of football and that teams can win in different ways. The article’s live coverage also flags Liverpool v Brighton and the build-up to the clásico.
