## Key points

- Casio’s CT-FS1 adapts to songs so beginners can play without wrong notes.
- Its Feel Sync mode can be divided between two players.
- The 61-key keyboard costs $400 and weighs just under 10 pounds.

## Summary

Casio has unveiled the CT-FS1, a keyboard with Feel Sync technology designed to let beginners play along to songs without hitting notes that clash. The system could help new players focus on rhythm, timing and expression, although it does not teach scales or conventional note-playing.

Users upload a song to Casio’s app, which analyses it and adjusts the keyboard, including for tracks with key changes and bridges. Feel Sync can be split into two zones so a beginner can play freely while a more experienced musician plays the actual notes. The CT-FS1 also has 61 touch-responsive keys, built-in stereo speakers, Bluetooth and a headphone output; it weighs just under 10 pounds, runs on batteries or an adapter, and costs $400.
