CBS has confirmed a pilot order for "Hilda! (In Lights!)", a single-camera comedy about a 70-year-old woman from Nebraska with no theatrical experience who moves to New York to chase a lifelong dream of performing on Broadway. Three scripts for the project, written and executive produced by Abbey Caldwell, were first flagged as in development at the studio back in April, and the pilot order confirms CBS is moving the show forward as part of its wider push into original comedy.
Caldwell is joined by non-writing executive producers Will Graham, Max Linsky and Tonia Davis of Invitation Media.
