- The case began with separate allegations from four siblings.

## Summary

A former New Jersey pre-K aide has been charged with sexually assaulting and filming children at Woodbine Elementary School, according to prosecutors. The allegations have raised questions about how the abuse was detected and how schools can better protect young pupils.

Shaun Stebbins, 44, worked at the school for more than four years and was named paraprofessional of the year for 2024-25. Prosecutors say investigators found material on his devices during an inquiry that began in spring; he faces 29 counts of manufacturing child sexual abuse material, five aggravated sexual assault counts, 13 sexual assault counts and 14 child endangerment counts. He was first arrested in March over separate allegations involving four siblings, who say abuse occurred from 2012 to 2025; he was due back in court on Wednesday.
