## Key points

- Jensen Huang admitted to an affair and apologised to his family.
- Nvidia is investigating whether he was targeted by Chinese intelligence.
- The board said it has no reason to believe secrets were compromised.

## Summary

The report adds that Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang admitted to employees that he had been unfaithful to his wife, apologising for the harm caused to her and their children. The disclosure comes as Nvidia’s board investigates whether he was targeted by a foreign intelligence effort, a matter with potential national security and corporate implications.

A memo reportedly overseen by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio assessed that Alice Huang, a Megaspeed executive and no relation to Jensen, had been recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security. Megaspeed, which bought billions of dollars’ worth of Nvidia chips, is also under investigation over alleged efforts to smuggle advanced GPUs into China. Nvidia’s board said it had no reason to believe national security or company secrets were compromised, expressed confidence in Huang and said he would co-operate with the independent review.
