Chadwick Boseman’s parents have launched a legal challenge against his widow, Simone Ledward Boseman, seeking to remove her as administrator of his estate. They allege she has failed to distribute assets as ordered, excluded them from decisions and improperly exercised sole control over the actor’s intellectual-property company; the dispute matters because the family jointly owns rights linked to Boseman’s work and name.

Boseman died without a will in August 2020, leaving his estate divided equally between his widow and parents, at 25 per cent each. The estate is said to be worth about $3.8 million, including cash, retirement accounts, insurance and Chadwick Boseman Inc.; the filing alleges a $40,000 policy owed to his mother remains unpaid and seeks an accounting, contempt finding and limits on Ledward Boseman’s control. She did not respond to a request for comment.
