## Key points

- Challinor brings seven promotions to Sheffield Wednesday.
- He must turn individual talent into a winning team.
- League One expectations will make the job demanding.

## Summary

Sheffield Wednesday’s new owners have appointed Dave Challinor to turn recent draws and defeats into wins. His record of seven promotions and experience in League One at Stockport County suit the task, but he must build a team from a squad of talented individuals.

The challenge comes with high expectations: Wednesday are expected to win regularly in League One, where the leading group is taking shape and Leicester and MK Dons may also contend. Challinor’s previous roles at Stockport, Hartlepool and Fylde differ from this high-pressure job; his working relationship with Simon Wilson, who helped shape the appointment, could be important.
