## Key points

- Barkley says trick-or-treaters asked him to sign basketball cards.
- He prefers to hand out sweets without signing autographs.
- He joked that the children could get away with it once.

## Summary

Charles Barkley complained on “Inside the NBA” that some trick-or-treaters in his neighbourhood asked him to sign basketball cards while collecting sweets. He said he enjoys giving children candy but does not want to spend Halloween signing autographs, turning the encounter into a light-hearted gripe about an unexpected request.

Barkley joked that he would let the children get away with it once, and said he could not be mean to them despite feeling frustrated. The article presents the children’s requests as unusually bold, while acknowledging their initiative; it gives no names, number of children or further details about when the encounters happened.
