## Key points

- Cheap Trick will pause touring after their November shows.
- Several 2027 concerts have been cancelled.
- The band says the break is not health-related.

## Summary

Cheap Trick will take an unspecified break from touring after their November 2026 shows, cancelling several concerts scheduled for 2027. The band says the decision follows decades on the road and is because they need a rest, not for health reasons; their remaining 2026 dates are unaffected.

The announcement follows speculation about the cancellations and guitarist Rick Nielsen’s breathing difficulty during a concert last month. Nielsen later said an MRI showed no cancer. The band, formed more than 50 years ago, has performed over 6,000 times; its latest studio album, *All Washed Up*, came out in November 2025.
