## Summary

Production has wrapped on Get Off Your Phone, a satirical horror comedy marking Chelsea Frei’s feature directorial debut. Frei also wrote the screenplay and stars in the film, which uses a retreat from social media to explore the tension between online identities and private selves.

Frei plays Daniela, a cancelled influencer who goes to rural Wisconsin with her boyfriend Jackson, played by Jon Rudnitsky, hoping to disconnect. Their plans take an unsettling turn when a mysterious stranger, Rada, played by Maria Bakalova, arrives. Producers say the film combines psychological horror, dark comedy and social satire; Frei said she began writing it during the pandemic, when her own screen time had become alarming.
