Chesterfield Football Club has completed the signing of young defender Alfie Pond from Wolverhampton Wanderers, securing the 22-year-old on a two-year deal. Pond made a small number of senior appearances for the Championship side across multiple competitions since joining in September 2022, but now moves to League Two to gain more regular playing time.

The defender's career began at Exeter City before his move to Wolves. A recent loan spell at Crewe Alexandra demonstrated his potential at the fourth tier, where he scored two goals in 19 league matches during the second half of the season, suggesting he could become a useful addition to Chesterfield's squad.
