The sentence means Brown will not go to prison unless he commits another offence during the suspension period; the judge said the violence was serious and dangerous, and that Brown’s fame did not entitle him to special treatment. The attack took place at Tape in Mayfair in February 2023. CCTV showed Brown hitting Diaw four times with a tequila bottle, twice on the head, during an incident lasting no more than 20 seconds; Diaw needed hospital treatment. Brown and his vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, pleaded guilty to affray and were each ordered to pay £1,500 costs; Akinlolu received a four-month sentence, suspended for 12 months. ## Coverage - [BBC Entertainment: Chris Brown given suspended eight-month prison sentence over nightclub attack](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq3dje4g4d5jo?at_medium=RSS&at_campaign=rss) - [The Hollywood Reporter: Chris Brown Escapes Prison With Eight-Month Suspended Sentence for London Nightclub Attack](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/chris-brown-london-nightclub-attack-suspended-sentence-1236739926/) --- Summarised by TalkFuse (https://talkfuse.com/).
