Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray over a 2023 nightclub attack in London, while more serious charges against him have been dropped. The plea means the US singer will be sentenced in October, avoiding a planned trial on allegations of assault, attempted grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.
Brown’s co-defendant, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded guilty to affray and had the same more serious charges withdrawn. Prosecutors said the pair attacked music producer Abe Diaw at Tape in Mayfair on 19 February 2023, with Brown allegedly using a glass bottle; Diaw required hospital treatment for head and knee injuries. Both men are due to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on 26 October.
