Deadline · 4 hours ago

Chris Hemsworth and Ben Grayson’s production company Wild State has joined the ultra-marathon documentary Learning to Fly ahead of its cinema release in the United States. Directed by Max Lowe, the film follows former competitive runner and photographer Aisha McAdams as she reconnects with running after trauma and mental health challenges, using the sport and its community to rebuild confidence and purpose.

The documentary premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last year and opens on 21 August at cinemas in New York and Los Angeles, before a global release on Amazon Prime Video. McAdams photographs elite runners including Jim Walmsley, Rod Farvard and Eszter Csillag at the Western States Endurance Run in California and the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in the French Alps, before entering an ultra-marathon herself. It is produced by Evan Hayes, Katy Chevigny and Ayesha Rokadia, with Wild State executives serving as executive producers.
