Passengers, the 2016 science-fiction film starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, is due to leave Netflix in the United States in September 2026. The departure brings renewed attention to a commercially successful but critically divisive film whose central premise prompted allegations that it excused sexual assault.

Directed by Morten Tyldum and running for 116 minutes, Passengers grossed more than $300 million worldwide despite mixed reviews and controversy. Pratt said he was surprised by the hostile reaction and remains proud of the film; Tyldum has not directed another feature since, instead working on television projects including Jack Ryan, Defending Jacob and Silo.
