Christian McCartney has been cast as the lead in the sports comedy feature "Defensive", reuniting with production company Twinbolt Media after their earlier collaboration on the faith-based drama "Just One More". The project marks a career milestone for McCartney, a stand-up comedian and social media personality with more than 10 million followers, who is also making his screenwriting debut on the film. It matters as a sign of Twinbolt Media, run by brothers Kaleb and Kyler Cook alongside Angel Studios, continuing to build out original comedy content with rising internet talent.

McCartney will star as Clarence, an overly aggressive basketball fanatic who forms a team of amateur detectives to stop a corrupt businessman from destroying their community centre, with the mystery-comedy also exploring his character's inability to apologise. He is joined by five co-stars: Mark Christopher Lawrence, Robert Amaya, Chris Petrovski, Camila Camilo and Evan Huffed. Kyler Cook will direct, and principal photography is set to begin this month in Pennsylvania.
