Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has reportedly surpassed a $727 million box-office milestone within 13 days, overtaking the pace of his previous hit Oppenheimer and setting a new personal record. Its strong second weekend is significant because it suggests the film could exceed the lifetime worldwide totals of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, potentially becoming Nolan’s highest-grossing film.

The film earned the biggest second-weekend total of Nolan’s career, surpassing the $75 million record set by The Dark Knight in 2008. Starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson, it has also received strong reviews, holding a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score compared with Oppenheimer’s 93%; Oppenheimer ultimately earned nearly $1 billion worldwide.
