Christopher Nolan has confirmed that his 2006 film *The Prestige* will be re-released in cinemas via IMAX 70mm to mark the movie's 20th anniversary. The announcement follows the success of his most recent film, *The Odyssey*, which made history as the first film shot entirely on 70mm IMAX film and became his highest-rated work with critics. The re-release brings one of Nolan's earlier, and by his own admission underrated, films to a new generation of audiences on the format he has become closely associated with.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan explained that the re-release will involve a 70mm "blow-up" of Wally Pfister's original anamorphic 35mm cinematography, praising both the photography and Nathan Crowley's production design as suited to the larger format. He said work on the process would begin within weeks. *The Prestige*, starring Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson, originally grossed over $109 million worldwide following its 2006 release, a figure that could rise following the re-release.
