Christy Knowings, the former child star of Nickelodeon’s sketch-comedy programme All That, has died aged 46. Her death has prompted tributes from former colleagues, including Kenan Thompson, and marks the loss of a performer remembered for her work on a widely watched children’s comedy series.

A family member told TMZ that Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Friday which caused brain damage; she was placed on life support and died on Tuesday night after her family decided to withdraw it at a hospital near Los Angeles. She appeared in 32 episodes of All That between 1997 and 2000, and also had credits on New York Undercover and Sesame Street; her manager described her as a dedicated multi-talented performer.
