Anthropic brings Docs and Slides to unified Claude platform

The Verge · 1 hour ago

Anthropic has launched Docs and Slides for Claude, new tools that let users create shareable documents and presentations directly from Claude chats, in a move that pushes the AI assistant further into territory dominated by Google's Gemini-powered productivity suite. Alongside this, Anthropic is merging its standard chat and Cowork features into a single unified "Claude" interface, meaning tools such as Artifacts and Claude Design are now accessible from any conversation rather than being siloed off. The update aims to keep users within Claude for a wider range of tasks, narrowing the gap with Google's more deeply integrated Docs, Sheets and Slides offerings.

Claude Docs and Slides are launching in beta, joining Claude Design in Anthropic's productivity line-up. Documents start out private but can be shared for real-time collaborative editing, with comments similar to Google Docs, and everything created lives at a single shareable link accessible from any device. The "one Claude" update is rolling out first to Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop and mobile over the coming weeks, with Team and Free users gaining access later; Anthropic says no action is required to enable it, and existing chat functionality remains unchanged.
