- Harries completed two screen tests for *Clayface*.
- The first test lasted three hours.
- The role may open new doors in his career.

## Summary

Tom Rhys Harries says he tried to stay focused during an unusually demanding audition for the lead in DC thriller *Clayface*, asking his team not to tell him who else was being considered. After a three-hour screen test, the studio asked him to return for a second test, and he was offered the role a few days later.

The part could mark a major step in the Welsh actor’s career: he had worked for about a decade in theatre and television but lacked experience leading a major studio film. Harries says the production’s large team helped him manage the pressure, and he credits the many people who supported his preparation. The article reports that *Clayface* received positive reviews and topped the box office on its opening weekend.
