Irish production company Great Island has optioned Clíodhna O'Sullivan's bestselling romantasy novel Her Hidden Fire for an eight-part young adult television adaptation, backing the Cork-based company's push into international scripted YA content. The story follows Éadha, a servant in a stratified magical world who secretly gives her hidden power to Ionáin, the heir she loves, only to find herself bound to an academy built on exploitation as she uncovers the truth behind the system.

The novel, O'Sullivan's debut, has been named an Amazon Editors' Best Book of 2026, chosen as a Good Morning America literary pick, and has become both a USA Today and UK bestseller; its second instalment is due in November 2026 via Penguin Random House Children's and Viking, with a third following in July 2027. Great Island plans to adapt the trilogy as a three-season series, expanding the story's scale with each book, and is now seeking creative and production partners; the deal was brokered by Marc Simonsson of International Creative Agency, with company CEO Mark Kenny and O'Sullivan both expressing enthusiasm for the project.
