Clipmatrix is a Counter-Strike-like, bunny hopping, platforming romp through surreal and industrial locales

Rock Paper Shotgun · 2 hours ago

Clipmatrix is an upcoming momentum-based platformer that builds its entire movement system around "bunny hopping," the jump-and-strafe speed technique long associated with Source Engine shooters like Counter-Strike. Unlike its inspiration, the game drops the shooting entirely, focusing purely on traversal through surreal, industrial environments, and appears aimed squarely at speedrunners and movement enthusiasts.

The game offers a 100-level campaign alongside an endless race mode with 50 additional tracks that reshuffle into a non-linear loop, plus a social hub area where players can gather, with lobbies supporting up to 250 runners at once. A dedicated tutorial promises to teach newcomers strafe timing, momentum preservation and other speed mechanics from scratch. Clipmatrix is being developed by Dreamware Media, the studio behind Hyperbeat, and is currently available to wishlist on Steam.

  • Clipmatrix turns Counter-Strike-style bunny hopping into a standalone platformer.
  • Features a 100-level campaign and a 250-player endless race mode.
  • Made by Dreamware Media (Hyperbeat); wishlistable on Steam now.
