Benjamin Bratt will return as Ernesto de la Cruz in Pixar’s Coco 2, which is scheduled for a November 2029 cinema release. The sequel will revisit the world of the 2017 hit with Miguel now a teenager, while Bratt’s character is positioned as seeking revenge.

The announcement was made at Disney’s D23 event, following Disney’s confirmation of the sequel in March 2025. The original Coco earned $822.4 million worldwide, including $210.5 million in the US and Canada, making it the 27th highest-grossing animated film globally; the franchise will also feature in the next Kingdom Hearts game.
