## Summary

A Wichita State University student was arrested on a rape charge, the second alleged sexual attack reported on campus in October. The cases have drawn attention to campus safety and the university’s response to reports of sexual violence.

James Vandenberg was arrested at a dorm on Saturday and released the next day after posting a $100,000 surety bond; details behind the charge were not available. Aaron Christian, 18, was arrested on 12 October on charges of aggravated battery and rape, then released on a $100,000 bond the following day. University police are investigating both cases, and the university says it takes reports seriously and follows legal, investigative and student-support processes.
