- Smith was a popular student and local rapper.
- They last met when Domingo waited on Smith at a restaurant.

## Summary

Colman Domingo has revealed that he and Will Smith attended the same Philadelphia high school, where they shared gym and science classes. The story offers a glimpse of Smith’s local fame before his entertainment career took off, and of Domingo’s very different place in their school’s social scene.

Smith was a year ahead and, Domingo recalled, the popular student and a local rapper performing with DJ Jazzy Jeff at The Wynne Ballroom. Domingo described himself as a nerd who focused on schoolwork and said the pair were not friends. Their last encounter was years later, when Domingo was waiting on Smith at a Philadelphia restaurant; they recognised each other and hugged, but have not crossed paths in Hollywood.
