Clash Magazine spoke to New York artist Justine Skye about her new EP 'CANDY', which marks a deliberate shift from the R&B sound that built her early career towards dance and club-influenced pop. Once known as an early social media style icon and later for Timbaland-produced R&B hits, Skye says she grew tired of writing emotionally heavy material and instead spent time exploring rave and club culture, travelling and working with unfamiliar artists and DJs before making the new record.
