Legendary's Apple TV Monsterverse series has added three more actors to its cast: Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson and Nyasha Hatendi will join as series regulars, Deadline has reported, though the characters they will play remain undisclosed. The new additions build on a cast already led by Wyatt Russell, alongside Millie Brady and Pilou Asbaek, further expanding the ensemble of the franchise's first major scripted spin-off for television.
The series, from showrunner Joby Harold, centres on Colonel Lee Shaw (Russell), an American operative who in 1984 undertakes a covert Cold War mission to stop the Soviet Union unleashing a monstrous new Titan capable of destroying the United States. Shaw first appeared in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, where an older version of the character was played by Russell's real-life father, Kurt Russell. The show forms part of Legendary's wider Monsterverse, which began with 2014's Godzilla and continued through Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, with a further film sequel, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, due in 2027; Harold and producer Tory Tunnell are developing multiple additional series within the franchise.
