County Star’s Opener Claims Singer Removed Them From Tour Due to “Satanic Imagery”
Twin Temple, a self-described "satanic doo wop" duo, have announced that they have been dropped as an opening act on country singer Charley Crockett's tour, claiming they were removed because of their "Satanic imagery". The band shared the news on Instagram, expressing disappointment and framing the decision as a matter of artistic freedom. The story highlights the tension between provocative stage personas and the sensibilities of a mainstream country audience.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, Crockett confirmed he had removed the duo — known for songs such as "Lucifer, My Love" and "Let's Have a Satanic Orgy" — quipping, "I thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain't. Not today, Satan." Twin Temple had been due to open shows in Troutdale, Oregon, on 14 July and Paso Robles, California, on 18 July, and it is unclear who will replace them. Crockett's Age Of The Ram Tour, supporting his recently re-released album Clovis, continues across the United States until 2 October in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
