Coyote vs. ACME, the Looney Tunes film once shelved by Warner Bros., made a respectable independent box office debut, beating both the epic The Odyssey and Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars over its opening weekend. The result is notable because Warner Bros. had abandoned the film in 2023, taking a $30 million write-off, before Ketchup Entertainment acquired and released it independently, without the backing of a major studio's marketing machine.

The film grossed $15.4 million in its first three days, according to Deadline, despite Ketchup Entertainment having only a $10 million marketing budget to fund the entire release itself. That total is already nearly double what Warner Bros.' own Looney Tunes release, The Day the Earth Blew Up, earned across its full theatrical run. Spider-Man: Brand New Day retained the top spot at the box office, but Coyote vs. ACME's second-place finish, along with strong reviews, marks a surprising turnaround for a project once written off entirely.
