Director Dave Green has celebrated the cinema release of Coyote vs. Acme, describing it as a victory for the cast, crew and audiences who campaigned for the film after it was shelved by Warner Bros. He said its arrival in theatres showed that films need not disappear permanently, and that the project could finally be seen as intended on the big screen.

The film had initially been due for release in July 2023, before Warner Bros. postponed it for Barbie and then shelved it in November 2023 for a reported $30 million tax write-off. Ketchup Entertainment bought the film in March 2025 and released it on 28 August 2026; it follows Wile E. Coyote suing Acme over faulty products, with Will Forte, Lana Condor and John Cena among the cast.
