Craig Russell Stars in British Action Thriller ‘The Priest’ as Cornwall Shoot Wraps (EXCLUSIVE)
British actor Craig Russell has finished shooting the action thriller "The Priest" on location in Cornwall, marking the feature directing debut of Will Saunders. Russell plays a former operative turned parish priest whose violent past resurfaces when a woman from his old life returns and a local crime boss tightens his grip on the town, drawing him back into conflict he thought he had left behind.
The cast also includes Luca Matteo Zizarri as crime boss Vale, Imogen Mackenzie as Holly, Sally Nash as Angie and Munday as Detective Emma Carter. The film was written by Maisie Davies, Sonny Barton, Zuzu Hanley and Jamie Moody, produced by Ethan Lee and shot by cinematographer Becks Bouron, using Cornwall locations including cliff-top ruins, working harbours and historic churches. It is the first feature from Falmouth University's MA Feature Filmmaking course, produced with British action studio Action Xtreme, whose previous Nigerian feature "Son of the Soil" secured a Netflix Africa deal.
