Gregg Araki, the creator of Starz's short-lived sci-fi drama *Now Apocalypse*, has revealed that a full second season had been written and was in pre-production before the show was axed after just one season in 2019. Speaking while promoting his new film *I Want Your Sex*, Araki said the cast had already been paid and scripts completed when the plug was pulled, meaning fans never got to see how the story was meant to continue. The cancellation followed a change in Starz leadership, with new CEO Jeff Hirsh calling the series a "great experiment" but declining to bring it back.

*Now Apocalypse* followed a group of friends navigating love, sex and fame in Los Angeles amid a surreal, possibly apocalyptic phenomenon, and starred Avan Jogia, Kerli Berglund, Roxanne Mesquida, Beau Mirchoff, RJ Mitte and Tyler Posey. Araki, known for films such as *Mysterious Skin* and *The Doom Generation*, has long explored sexuality and desire in his work, themes carried through into both the cancelled series and his latest feature, which stars Cooper Hoffman and Olivia Wilde. He has now shared details of the abandoned Season 2 storyline, giving fans a first glimpse of a plot they were never able to see play out.
