Cricket legend Virender Sehwag has been announced as the new host of Season 2 of Rise and Fall, Prime Video India's reality series, taking over from Ashnee Grover. It marks his first time fronting a streaming show and continues a trend of retired Indian cricketers moving into television presenting, following figures such as Rohit Sharma, Ajay Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan and Sourav Ganguly. The move gives Prime Video a high-profile, recognisable face to build hype around the second series of a format that proved a breakout hit in its debut run.

Rise and Fall pits 15 celebrities against each other across a penthouse and basement in the same building, split into "Rulers" and "Workers," with challenges allowing Workers to swap places with Rulers as the game progresses. The show is an Indian remake of a Studio Lambert format originally made for Channel 4 in the UK, which was cancelled after one season, but has thrived in India under producer Banijay Asia. Sehwag, who retired from international cricket in 2015, compared the format's unpredictability to a cricket match, while Prime Video executives praised his wit and personality as a fit for the show. No launch date or contestant line-up has yet been confirmed, though the series will stream free on Prime Video and the MX Player app.
