## Summary

Pearl Abyss has confirmed 15th October as the release date for Charting the Unknown, the first post-launch DLC for its hit action RPG Crimson Desert, following a vague tease of expansion content back in June. Unveiled during a State of Play presentation, the DLC adds new story missions in which characters Kliff, Oongka and Damiane journey deeper into the continent of Pywel, and it launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The expansion costs £19.99 in the UK and $24.99 in the US, and is available to pre-order now on PS5, with Steam, Xbox and Epic Games Store pre-orders opening the same day; it will not come to the Mac App Store version. Pre-ordering unlocks the Charter's Diving set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter's Light Diving set for Damiane, while the PS5 Pro-captured reveal trailer showcased new homesteading, house-building, romance and NPC cooking features. The announcement followed closely behind Crimson Desert's free Enhanced upgrade, which added extra skills, story content and new localisations, and comes as the game — which has sold over 6 million copies since its March release — also has a Switch 2 port and potential multiplayer or live-service models in development.
