Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins, a prequel comic about the early days of the adventuring group Vox Machina, will be released on Webtoon following its reveal at San Diego Comic-Con. The move makes another story from Critical Role’s fantasy setting of Exandria easier to read on mobile devices, expanding the franchise’s presence on the digital comics platform.

The series follows six future heroes who meet in the cursed coastal town of Stillben and uncover a threat to the city. It is Critical Role’s second Webtoon title after The Mighty Nein Origins, following Dark Horse Comics’ broader partnership with the platform; the first three episodes will be free from 4 August 2026, with 56 episodes planned per season and five additional paid Fast Pass episodes.
