Crunchyroll has launched its first-ever streaming bundle for US subscribers, pairing its anime service with Starz for $16.99 a month, available exclusively through Amazon's Prime Video. The move marks a departure from Crunchyroll's usual standalone subscription model and reflects a wider push by both services, which occupy relatively niche corners of the streaming market, to attract new subscribers through cross-promotion.

The bundle offers a 23% saving compared with buying the two services separately, implying it is built around Crunchyroll's standard $9.99 "Fan" tier alongside Starz's sole $11.99 plan. Both companies are also running their own separate promotions, with Starz offering three months at $5.99 and Crunchyroll cutting 17% off annual plans until the end of July. Crunchyroll, now a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex, remains North America's largest anime streamer with more than 21 million subscribers, while Starz reports over 17.6 million. The new bundle likely excludes extras such as Crunchyroll's manga service, game vault and store access, which are increasingly reserved for pricier tiers.
