## Summary

A gunman fired at Brandon Boudreaux outside his Arizona home in 2019, with a bullet striking his car door and missing his head by inches. Prosecutors said Lori Vallow Daybell recruited her brother, Alex Cox, to kill him during Boudreaux’s divorce from Vallow’s niece; an Arizona jury convicted Vallow of conspiring to murder him in 2025.

Boudreaux has now published *Unthinkable*, a book he first wrote for his four children to explain his choices and the ordeal. He waited to speak publicly while criminal proceedings were under way, and says the shooting, divorce and fear of being targeted left him struggling to trust others. Cox died in 2019 without being charged, while Boudreaux’s former wife has not been charged in the shooting.
