Curaçao won its second Little League World Series title, defeating Nevada 11-2 in the championship game and securing the country's first crown since 2004. The small Caribbean nation, home to fewer than 200,000 people, had already claimed the International title with a shutout win over Japan before overwhelming the American state champions in the final, cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in youth baseball.

Nevada, chasing its own maiden world title after winning the US championship, briefly led 2-0 in the second inning, but Curaçao levelled the score in the third and then pulled away with nine runs across the following three innings. A late Nevada rally in the sixth, with the bases loaded, fell just short when a deep fly ball was caught at the warning track. Curaçao became only the second team, after Japan, to win the title playing under their own country's name, while Japan beat Ohio 4-2 in the consolation game. The win adds to a strong year for Curaçaoan sport, following its national football team's first-ever appearance at the FIFA World Cup.
