Curiosity Entertainment Enlists Exec Laurie Seidman And John Maatta & Sets Storyteller Media’s Debut Page-To-Screen Slate

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Curiosity Entertainment has appointed former CBS executive Laurie Seidman as its new Head of Film & Television, giving her oversight of the production company's full development slate, while also unveiling the debut page-to-screen projects from its publishing arm, Storyteller Media. The move marks a significant step for the company, co-founded by producer Adhrucia Apana and screenwriter Charles Allen, as it seeks to build a business model that pairs book publishing with television, film and gaming adaptations.

Seidman departed CBS Entertainment in December 2025 after serving as Senior Vice President of Current Programming, where she oversaw shows including The Talk and Bull, and previously produced NBC's Medium; she will now lead a slate featuring the financial crisis-inspired dramedy Goodman, the series Kaidro: The Awakening and YA fantasy show Witches of Calabasas. Veteran media executive John Maatta, former COO of The CW, also joins as board chair, while Storyteller Media, whose books are distributed by Macmillan, plans to publish 20 to 30 titles annually across genres including children's, YA, fantasy and graphic novels, each developed with adaptation potential in mind.
