A 16-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car while cycling in Small Heath, Birmingham, in the early hours of Friday morning. The collision, which occurred near Birmingham City's stadium, has prompted a police investigation and the arrest of a 47-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, underscoring the ongoing risks faced by young cyclists on the road.

The crash took place at the junction of Cattell Road and Templefield Street, where a car struck the teenager's bicycle. He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.
