## Summary

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said on Tuesday that linebacker Jack Campbell is improving after suffering a neck injury during Sunday’s 19–15 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The defensive captain was injured while making a tackle early in the fourth quarter, taken from the field on a backboard and brought to hospital for evaluation. The Lions said on Monday that he was resting and recovering there, with preliminary indications described as positive. The team has not released further medical details or given a timetable for his return.

Dan Campbell visited Jack in hospital on Sunday night and said he had spoken with his family. In a Tuesday radio interview, the coach said he had kept the team’s captains informed so they could update their teammates. He acknowledged that it was difficult to prepare for the next game while Jack remained on everyone’s minds. Detroit are due to face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, with the condition of a leader of their defence still the team’s chief concern.
