Sports broadcaster Dan Le Batard has claimed that NFL television coverage disproportionately favours white analysts over black ones, suggesting the pattern is deliberate to make the sport more "palatable" to a broad audience. His comments, made on his podcast, cited the promotions of white former players such as Luke Kuechly and J.J. Watt as evidence, and questioned why black players were not given similar opportunities.

Fox Sports' Outkick disputed the claim, arguing Le Batard cherry-picked examples while ignoring numerous black hires, including Jason McCourty at ESPN, Devin McCourty at NBC, Charles Davis at CBS and Robert Griffin III at Fox. It noted that black analysts reportedly outnumber white ones at ESPN, Fox, CBS and NBC, and pointed out that Meadowlark Media, the company Le Batard himself owns, features an overwhelmingly white lineup of hosts, with only one non-white presenter identified. Outkick said it had asked Le Batard to justify his claim and about the racial makeup of his own company, but had not received a response by the time of publication.
