Danny Ramirez has joined the cast of Universal Pictures’ Miami Vice ’85, a new feature adaptation of the influential 1980s crime series. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Dan Gilroy, the film will revisit the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami; Ramirez’s role has not been disclosed.

Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler lead the cast, alongside recently announced additions Alden Ehrenreich, Camila Morrone and Whitney Peak. Production is due to begin this year, with the IMAX film scheduled for release on 19 May 2028; its screenplay draws on characters created by Miami Vice creator Anthony Yerkovich.
