Days of Our Lives has cast Sydney Malakeh as Sydney DiMera, the only daughter of long-running characters Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), Deadline has learned. The casting is significant for fans of the NBC/Peacock soap, as the character was last seen as a pre-teen in the 2021 Peacock film Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas and will now be reintroduced as an adult presence in Salem, continuing the DiMera family storyline.

Malakeh, whose previous credits include Grey's Anatomy, Shrinking, Loot and The Sex Lives of College Girls, will debut on 9 September. She is part of a broader casting push for the serial, which also includes Brandon Butler (13 Reasons Why) as Mason Whitfield and Franco LoPresti, known for Heated Rivalry, Tracker and Chucky, who joins as Dante, a character linked to Sami, arriving on 14 September. Days of Our Lives, produced by Corday Productions with Sony Pictures Television, streams exclusively on Peacock and is broadcast in several countries including Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Israel and Australia.
