DC Officially Replaces Wonder Woman

Collider · 12 hours ago

DC Comics has introduced a sinister new version of Wonder Woman in Next Level: One Shot #1: an evil-looking clone engineered from Diana Prince’s DNA. The character is part of the Drones, genetically created superhumans linked to a revived Cadmus organisation, and her arrival launches a wider storyline about possible replacements among DC’s heroes.

Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Fernando Blanco, the comic follows Deadshot as Rick Flag exposes Cadmus’s programme to create and sell customised superhumans. The Drones can use Starro-like creatures hidden inside them to copy other people, while three clones based on Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman have apparently turned against Cadmus and call themselves “the last Suicide Squad”. Future Next Level stories may explore whether characters including Vixen, the Teen Titans and Bat-Family members have also been replaced.

  • DC introduces a cloned, darker Wonder Woman.
  • Cadmus is creating and selling engineered superhumans.
  • The storyline centres on secret hero replacements.
